Import & playback
How do I open a MIDI file?
Tap the + button and choose a .mid or .midi file in Files, or open a file from Mail or AirDrop with MIDI Player Simple. The app supports Standard MIDI formats 0 and 1 with musical timing. Two original demo songs are included.
Why are some controls locked?
Playback, original instruments, both visualizers, Focus and library management are free. Pro features remain visible with a lock; tapping one opens the upgrade screen.
Why is there no sound?
Check the device volume and the selected output. If you use external MIDI, make sure the receiving instrument is connected and configured. With Pro, also check track mute, solo, levels and master output.
Pro & purchases
What does Pro unlock?
Alternate instruments, mute/solo, part levels/pan, custom banks, effects/EQ/compression, master output, tempo/key, practice tools, every export format, stems, batch export and optional iCloud sync.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings → MIDI Player Simple Pro → Restore purchases. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. An internet connection is needed to contact Apple.
Will I be charged every month?
No. Pro is planned as a one-time non-consumable purchase at US$9.99. Apple provides the current local price before confirmation.
Practice & editing
With Pro, set A and B in Practice to loop a passage. Adjust tempo or key, then use the tempo ladder to gradually build speed. Save a preset to remember the setup.
Change instrument voices in the mixer. Adjust part levels and pan or use mute and solo. Sound editing in Settings includes reverb, echo, drive, EQ, compression and master level. Changes are saved per song.
Exporting
All exports require Pro. Use the share button on Listen to export MIDI, WAV, M4A or MP3. Choose a full mix or separate audio stems. In Library, use Batch export for several songs.
Keep the app open until rendering finishes. Audio includes your soundbank and effects. MIDI carries the note arrangement, tempo, instruments, part levels and pan; audio effects are not embedded in MIDI. Audio exports support songs up to one hour.
iCloud sync
With Pro, open Settings and enable Sync with iCloud on each device using the same iCloud account. iCloud Drive must be available. Sync includes MIDI files, playlists, favorites, practice setups and selected custom soundbanks.
Changes synchronize while the app is open. Local copies stay available offline. Turning sync off keeps local data, and deleting the app does not remove its iCloud data.
Deletions sync between devices. This is not version history or a recoverable backup. To remove stored cloud data, disable sync on every device and remove the app’s data through system iCloud storage settings.
Privacy & licenses
Read the privacy policy. The bundled soundbank and MP3 encoder notices are available in Settings → About MIDI Player Simple → Third-party licenses.
